WP Content Ranker Review

Today we are focusing our attention on a product by a guy called Abbas Ravji. The product is a WordPress plugin called WP Content Ranker. As the title suggests, this plugin is designed to help you rank in the search engines and ultimately bring you more traffic.

But is this plugin really required to rank your content online? Can a single WordPress plugin increase the flow of traffic to your website? Or is this just another scam, designed to rip you off?

What Is WP Content Ranker And How Does It Work?

WP Content Ranker is a WordPress Plugin that you can install on any self-hosted WordPress blog. The plugin is designed to help you create content, find keywords to target and also increase traffic to your posts.

When installed the plugin creates a menu in the top right-hand corner of the WordPress editor.

You will see 4 main sections to the plugin. Analyse, Spin, Syndicate and settings. I’m going to show you the main features of this plugin and how it is supposed to help you get better rankings. I’ll then tell you what I think about the plugin and I’ll give you my overall opinion.

Getting Started With The WP Content Ranker Plugin

You start using this plugin by entering an area of interest. This will be the overall theme of our post. In the demo here we see that the “keyword Twitter” Marketing has been entered.

WP Content Ranker then goes out and finds the top ten websites that rank for that phrase. The plugin shows you quite a lot of interesting data about those top ten sites and that information could potentially be used to help you. However, in the next step, I started to get a little concerned about using this plugin.

As you can see from the image above, WP Content Ranker shows you all the titles, headings and content from the top ten pages. You can then copy anything you like the look of into your own article.

I found this a little worrying as many of you will already know that copying content from other websites is a very bad idea! But then the plugin makes an attempt to create unique content by using a process known as spinning…

WP Content Ranker – Is Spinning Content A Good Idea?

WP Content Ranker allows you to take just about any content from other websites. The plugin allows you to drag and drop both text and images onto your own posts.

The idea is that you will take the best bits from the top ten websites ranking for your chosen keywords and then make a new article from the bits that you choose. But as many of you will already know, duplicate content is something that Google does not like at all. So is it really a good idea to be stealing other peoples content?

Well, WP Content Ranker have a solution to duplicate content. This is something that was used quite a lot a few years ago but isn’t used so much now. It’s called article spinning and it’s the process of taking someone else’s written work and changing the words to make it your own. But there is a problem with article spinning and probably the reason that many people have stopped using it.

Article spinners change words for other words that mean the same thing. The end result is supposed to create a unique article that fools Google into that you wrote it, rather than stealing it from someone else’s website. However, article spinners are far from perfect! The results are often really bad…

You can see that the WP Content Ranker makes it very easy to select and spin the article. But what do the results look like? Well, the results with content spinning will vary greatly from one article to another. But take a look at the example below and notice how the spun content isn’t written quite so well as the original version.

Adding More Keywords With WP Content Ranker

One thing that I did like about this plugin was its ability to look at the words you are using within your articles. The plugin goes out and analyzes the top ten sites for your chosen niche. It then tells you the top keywords and phrases that these sites are using within their content.

This is quite helpful as Google use data like this to assess what your site is all about and how relevant your content is. The plugin simply gives you a list of the most popular words and phrases used. You can take this information and apply it to your posts or pages.

WP Content Ranker Syndication

WP Content Ranker also allows you to share your content quickly with the “syndication” section of the plugin. For me, this section of the plugin was very disappointing as you can only share your posts with Twitter, Tumblr and Pinterest. In this day and age sharing on social media is a great way of generating some quick traffic.

Unfortunately, WP Content Ranker only gives us the ability to share on 3 social media sites. Perhaps this is something that the programmers might look into in the future?

WP Content Ranker – My Overall Opinion On This Plugin

In my opinion, this plugin has both good and bad features. On one hand, WP Content Ranker can provide you with some good information when doing the research before writing an article.

The plugin also gives you some great data when it comes to choosing keywords. However, the main section of this product involves two elements that I really don’t like. Firstly the plugin encourages you to copy other peoples content and secondly it uses article spinners in an attempt to make your content unique.

These two practices are not used by successful blog owners and for a very good reason.

Is This Plugin The Solution To Quick Content And Rankings?

If you are tempted to buy WP Content ranker because you think it’s going to be a quick way to create more content and get lots of traffic, you might well be disappointed.

Google is really good at spotting badly written articles, copied articles and spun content. A few years ago spun content was everywhere on the internet, but no longer! Google realized that people didn’t want to read spun articles because most of them were unreadable. These days article spinning is outdated. The technique shouldn’t even be considered if you want to create a successful online business.

At first glance, this plugin might seem like a great way to get some quick traffic. In actual fact, I think using this plugin would actually take longer, especially if you wanted to create quality content. In my opinion, there is only one way to create a good quality article and that is to write it in your own words, rather than copying someone else.

There is nothing stopping you from checking out the top ten websites in your niche and getting ideas from them. You can quite easily take the ideas and themes of other posts on the internet without directly copying them. And you certainly don’t need a plugin to do that.

The Best Way To Create Content That Gets Ranked

If you want to create content that gets ranked, then it’s pointless trying to fool Google. Rather than using the latest techniques and plugins to try and cheat your way to the top, there’s a much simpler way! It involves doing things the way that Google likes to see them done. Many people will waste their time trying the latest methods of getting more traffic when in actual fact they could be ranking quite easily by simply producing quality content.
