Hi there Bradley. I know exactly where you are coming from because I thought exactly the same. In fact, before joining Wealthy Affiliate in 2015 I worked alone for quite a few years as an affiliate marketer. There are quite a few benefits of joining Wealthy Affiliate rather than going solo. First of all, in affiliate marketing and SEO things change all the time. Wealthy Affiliate is always kept up to date with the latest updates. Sure you could watch several sites and keep your eye on things, but then you need to decide who has the right answer. When I worked alone, I would often look up the answer to a problem and then find two or three differing opinions on the same thing. With Wealthy Affiliate you can get answers from people that have real experience. Moving on… One of the biggest things that I don’t think I mentioned in this article was the fact that you get security, daily backups and an SSL certificate included. If you have ever had your website hacked, you’ll know how valuable this is. There are many aspects to the membership that you just don’t get when you work alone. But only you can decide if you need this membership. Have you read my full Wealthy Affiliate review? The review has more details and might just give you more idea of what you get. If I were you, I would try out the free membership so that you can at least see the quality of what you get.
Hi Andrew, I wanna join WA but I’ve heard that some levels are only for premium members and I’m not sure if I can pay the premium membership later. Can I still make money staying as a free member? Will I be earning money slower than a premium member if I stay as a free member?
Hi there! Yes you can stay a free member of Wealthy Affiliate and keep earning money as a free member. The premium membership is recommended as it will open up a whole lot of other benefits for you. However, I also understand that many people simply can’t afford to go premium right away. Some levels are only available to premium members, yes you are quite right. WA make it so that you can keep working on your free affiliate business for as long as you wish. The free websites are yours for as long as you keep them updated. Will you earn more as a premium member? Yes, especially if you are thinking of joining the WA affiliate program. Why not try to earn some money as a free member and then reinvest it back into your business as a premium member? That’s the method that I used when I first got started online. I started promoting a single affiliate product and then reinvested the money I made back into my business. It might take a bit of time but its a good option if you don’t have the money to get started right away.
Do I have to be a premium member to join an affiliate program?
No you don’t need to be a premium member to join the affiliate program. In fact there are tons of other free affiliate programs that you can join once you know how affiliate marketing works. Get get paid less through the WA affiliate program when you are a free member. But that’s because you are getting quite a lot considering the membership costs you nothing. Once you upgrade your WA membership, the affiliate payments also increase.
